3. ADHD Isn't One Problem. It's Four.
ADHD isn't a "focus problem." It's four chemical messengers running on empty at the same time:
Dopamine
Focus. When it's low, three hours of video games but five minutes of homework.
Serotonin
Mood control. When it's low, small frustrations feel enormous. Wrong cup. Changed plans. Suddenly everything is a crisis.
GABA
The brain's brake pedal. When it's low, the meltdown runs until it runs out of fuel.
Norepinephrine
Energy regulation. Wired at bedtime. Crashing after school. Never at the right level.
All four are disrupted. That's why your child isn't just hyper or just emotional — they're all of it, all at once.
They're not a hard child. They're a child working incredibly hard with a brain that won't cooperate.
